| Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta 28th, 29th and 30th August 2008 | ||
| Sailing Events Races are organised under the Burgee of the Royal Dart and Dartmouth Yacht Clubs. Sailing headquarters are the Royal Dart Yacht Club on the opposite side of the river at Kingswear. Racing takes place mainly in Start Bay and attracts entries from all over the country. Over 200 craft of different sizes, from Yachts to Dinghies compete in over 15 events, with thousands of spectators - the prize-giving taking place on the Sunday, alternating between the two yacht clubs Detailed information and entry forms are available on the Dartmouth Week web page. |

Rowing Events One of the Regatta's most popular events is the Rowing. The Friday local rowing programme comprises events in Whalers, and "Blue" Boats, these boats are owned by the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, and were given to the Regatta by Organisations and Local People. The WEARA events at regatta are extremely popular with local rowing clubs. We have Eights, Fours, and Pairs fighting it out over the testing course. |

| 2008 Air Display Once again Jason and the Regatta Committee have managed to pull together one of the best public displays in Europe. The Red Arrows will be performing on Saturday. The Typhoon, Lynx Pair, Merlin and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will all be putting on shows throughout the week. See the air display page for more details. |

HMS Argyll. HMS Argyll, a Type 23 Frigate, will be the Regatta Guardship. She will be arriving on Thursday 28th. More information on Argyll is available here.. Picnic In The Park The Regatta are pleased to announce that for the third year the Committee have decided that Dartmouth's premier black tie event will once again be a The Picnic in the Marquee on Tuesday 26th August, 2008. |

| Fireworks, Flags and Lights.
Spectacular Fireworks Displays on Thursday and Saturday evenings. The Royal Avenue Gardens, Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth Castle and St. Saviours Church will be floodlit during the Regatta. |

The Committee appeals to all House
holders, Traders & Boat Owners to decorate their premises and 'Dress Ship' to add to the
festive appearance of the Town during Regatta. The guns of the Royal Dart Yacht Club will be fired at 0800 hours as a signal to 'Dress Ship' and also at sunset. The Bells of St. Saviours will ring out from 8.00 a.m. during the Regatta Period. |
